Afghanistan Rises - one step at a time

The Blessed Tree - documentary film screening

A film undertaking the themes of love of the Prophet, veneration of holy sites, grace and symbolism. This film tells the story of the meeting between the Prophet Muhammad (s) and a Christian monk named Bahira. The meeting happened in the shade of a tree. 1400 years later that same tree was discovered still alive in the northern deserts of Jordan. The only tree alive in hundreds of square miles of emptiness. This tree is a link to the life of the Prophet (s).

Shaykh Ridhwan delivered an enlightening lecture expounding upon the traditional understanding of jihad within the Islamic tradition. The lecture was a commentary on hadith no. 8 from Imam al-Nawawi's forty hadith compilation.
The event was part of the enhancement lectures for the adult education program.
